I know this is kinda old in idea but what did you all think about new types as they came out with it. I know i hear a lot of " ugh more things to learn" but perhaps you had your own thoughts about it. For me I loved the idea on Dark typing when S/G/C brought it to the table but steel i was very annoyed with i was young and didnt think that it was that easy to take down. Fairy was also easy for me to understand as i used a lot of poison buuuut i was kinda sad about some type changes. this thread is going to be very opinion based
I enjoy the new types, I wasn't too hyped for fairy until I got to use it, I have grown to love the typing now and I think it needs more standalone Pokémon like Sylveon. I do find it weird how Fairy is super effective against fighting, as if fighting needed another weakness!
I really like fairy types since I think they can be very overpowered since not many use steel or poison types. Dark types are also very useful but I have yet to use one. Steel types are also pretty good since they can take down fairies and Ageislash is awesome
Agreed there, but i think it is kinda like the idea that knights vs mages and that fast magic casters can easily kill knights as long as they keep distance . Also i found it odd that Dragons are weak to themselves, ice and fairy. I mean dragons did need more weakness' and all but if i keep going with the idea that the fairy type is like a magic type then it would be odd that dragons are kinda the embodiment of magic at times. I kinda label it as very odd. [off topic kinda]
That's just in the card game because some poison types are remade as psychic and poison is weak to psychic
Right, that makes a lot more sense. I always assumed That's why my psychic Pokémon never did good in a Psychic gym
I've never been totally sold on Fairy to be honest. It just seems a bit too overpowered to me. Also Gamefreak said they added Dairy to "balance the meta?" That just implies the added Fairy only for competitive which i cant get into so rip
I don't find any problems when Dark, Steel, or Fairy were introduced. The learning curve was fine. I welcome any new types. As long as it isn't anything dumb like Cosmic, Sound, or Light. Every type so far has been either a form of element, or a creature classification.
